Another fun event went off without a hitch in Washington, DC at MAZIDC. We gathered with Greek Wine fans and celebrated this amazing new hotspot. We introduced some amazing wines by two of our featured #MeettheWinemakers. Read the series on our page at www.uncorkedgreeks.com.

Wine lovers and aficionados, around Washington DC, gathered for a treat at the French Embassy on Friday, January 18. Uncorked Greeks got the call from fellow wine lover, and wine blogger extraordinaire, Panos Kakaviatos; a call we could not resist, naturally. We experienced a five course French dinner, at the Embassy's lovely restaurant, Cafe Descartes. One wine from one winery, with the depth of 15 vintages was presented; Chateaux Leoville Poyferre from the commune of Saint Julien in Bordeaux. Panos was joined by Sara Cuvelier, whose family owns the estate and had just flown in from France, for this occasion.
We were truly honored to be part of such an exclusive event; a reminder that fine wine enjoyment transcends borders, takes you on a journey and is appreciated the most, among fellow wine lovers.
We sampled indigenous varietals of producers from all over Greece - Garalis, Bairaktaris, and more.
Many thanks to Top Chef's own George Pagonis for creating pairings that expressed the complexities and highlighted the flavor notes of the wine. His plates were modern with a greek twist.
