Alpha Estate

Situated in the area of Amynteo, in Northwestern Greece, this is one of the leading wineries of the country. It was established by Angelo Iatridis and Makis Mavridis, in 1998. Some fifteen grape varieties are cultivated here, from aromatic Malagouzia, mineral driven Assyrtiko,and world class Sauvignon Blanc to the tannic Xinomavro, peppery Syrah, fruit driven Merlot, among others. Great attention is paid to the selection of the individual blocks, density of planting, elevation, irrigation, and clone selection. Furthermore at the state of the art winery facility, no expense has been spared, including an immense wine cellar filled with the highest quality French oak barrels. The wines produced at Alpha Estate are some of the finest available from Greece and a sizable amount is exported. In addition, the wines receive extensive reviews, with high scores, from critics around the world.
