Chateau Nico Lazaridi

Chateau Nico Lazaridi

Situated in Northern Greece, in the area of Drama, this was a pioneer winery for the region that inspired many others to follow. Established in 1990 by Marble magnate Nicos Lazaridi, the winery produces mostly blended wines, influenced by French and Italian varietals. It was the “Magic Vouno” (Magic Mountain) red blend from the mid 1990’s, that became one of the first Cult wines of the country. This Bordeaux inspired example made it known that Greece could produce high quality, age worthy wines. Today, Nico’s son, Federico, is at the helm, continuing the art of blending and maintaining the international grape varietal cultivation.

55 hectares (136 acres) under vine. 1.1 million bottles produced.
