Kir-Yanni Estate

Kir-Yanni Estate

This most important winery near Naoussa began operations in the mid 1990's, by Yiannis Boutaris. His family’s wine making history, dating back to the mid 19th century, is responsible for putting Greece on the world wine map. Today, his son Stelios Boutaris along with his UC Davis educated brother Michalis, are crafting some of the country's best wines. Although focus is naturally on the indigenous Xinomavro grape, international varietals such as Syrah and Merlot have acclimated very well in the region. With attention to the vineyard and cutting edge techniques at the winery, Kir Yianni produces some very age worthy wines that are highly rated.
Annual production: One million bottles from 65 hectares.
