This is Santorini’s original co-op, and a very important producer of wines. It has been instrumental in promoting the wines of the island, along with the individual producers. The range of wines is very impressive; from new age sparkling wines (first to use Assyrtiko in the island, for brut style), bone dry, mineral driven assyrtikos in various styles, to the legendary desert wine, Vinsanto, the winery continuously wins in international competitions, not to mention the accolades of Robert Parker, and Stephen Spurrier. Without question, the winery with its rather large production (by Santorini standards), has made the wines of the island accessible not only within Greece, but in the international scene, as well.
