Situated in Northern Greece, in the area of Drama, this is a rather large estate (by Greek standards) producing a wide range of high quality wines. Owner Christopher Pavlidis, a marble producer, realizing the potential of the region, decided to follow his passion. He currently owns two distinct parcels of land where the vineyards are situated; in Kokkinogia where red clay is dominant, and in Mount Menikio dominated by limestone. A unique aspect of this operation is its harvesting that takes place at night; not a typical time to pick up grapes, this practice has been seen in few places including Santorini, and California. Grapes cultivated are a mix of Greek varietals such as Assyrtiko, Agiorgitiko, as well as the international ones such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah and Tempranillo. It seems that these varieties have acclimated very well to the northern Greek climate of the area (warm days, and cool nights; hot summers, but very cold winters). The wines vary in style, from classic aromatic and structured whites, to dense, balanced, food friendly reds. The wines overall, showcase the potential of the Greek vineyard, and have a certain international appeal making them favorite choices throughout Europe, North America and Asia. 65 Hectares (160 acres). Annual production 350,000 bottles.
