Here is an obscure grape, native to the area of Zitsa in Northwestern Greece. Vines are grown on high elevation by the Pindus mountains. The wine ages for 24 months in French oak. The result is a beautifully structured red wine, with a nose full of herbs, cassis, and red currants. The medium mouth-feel leads to a lovely structured palate, with well defined acidity.  The finish is long and peppery. A food loving wine this pairs well with mild cheeses, Mediterranean herb crusted pork loin, risotto with black truffles. ABV 12%
